I can't bare to throw out used A4 paper, when the pile of scrap paper gets too big i make up these books.  Fold the paper into A5, with the plain side visible, the open edge become the 'spine' with the folded edge on the right hand side.  Sprinkled with magazine cut out pages and other coloured paper, have the whole lot bound at Officeworks with clear acetate covers for $6 each. Gorgeous for gifts. XL
